MBP 2.2 i7 with CS5.5 production premium

Hi

I asked a month or so ago if a Macbook Pro 2.2 Quad core i7 with 4GB Ram and 500GB 7200rpm would suffice for Final Cut Pro. Everybody said yes, and made me feel at ease.

I have decided to go the Adobe road now. Checking the Adobe CS5.5 Premium production tech specs am not so sure the same laptop can handle that package with the same ease. I hope I'm proved wrong by actual CS5.5 users on similar MBP's.

Bold parts is what concerns me.

Any users with experience on similar setups?

Here's the simple rule of thumb:
If you have the latest Mac with a GPU, it can run any program written for OS X.

I concur with the above comment, although sticking more RAM in there wouldn't hurt.


You are always going to be able to slow the machine down if you deal with very large file sizes but the machine you are talking about should be able to cope as good as any other portable.

That seems fine to me.
If you want be really sure buy the 2011 MBP.
I run my CS5 Master collection on there but damn its fast!

I ask because I didn't see the AMD Radeon HD 6750M in the list of supported GPU cards.

I have CS5 master collection I know its not 5.5 but I've never had issues with my 13"
