I still didn't decide to go for the 2.2 or the 2.5 MHz.

- don't care much about graphics
- interested in CPU perf, but does it really make a difference.. (many Q&A about that)

However, my question is related to Battery, graphics card and Weight.

The Apple page states that

- both have 9 hours autonomy
- both weight 4.49 pounds (2.04 kg)

but the 2.5 has an AMD graphics card and a stronger CPU (more battery for same autonomy)

At the very bottom of the Apple page, a note about the weight:

"Weight varies by configuration and manufacturing process"

So, can I expect a - at least - slightly lighter MBP by choosing the 2.2?

The weight difference is negligible. Both the 2.2 and 2.5 are quad cores i7.

Unless you're dealing with large video files/photos where processing times matter, you will most likely never notice the difference.

Based on Apple's recent track record with dGPUs, I would recommend going for the 2.2.

You will not be able to tell the difference in weight ... I mean come on, do you know how light a laptop GPU is compared to the rest of the 4.5 lb body?

Actually my reasoning was:
- more CPU power
- more GPU power
- same battery life (9 hours)

=> more battery - which is heavy!

The battery is the exact same. Any weight difference would be in the extra chip (the dGPU). And honestly, if you can actually feel that, I can suggest a good shrink for you.
