In Continue with my last post about selection of upgrade MBP 2.2GHz HD. I bought a 500GB WD 5400rpm HD last Friday to change default Fujitsu 120GB one. But, after replaced the HD then goes to reinstalll Mac OSX step, I found my optical drive refuse to read every disk I put into including Leopard OS disk. Come to think of it, it has been whole years since my last time to use it. So here comes the Q, Would that be the malfunction of optical drive or just cozd by dusts? Any ideal of it, or does anyone have the same experience?

When I feed the disk into the drive it swallow for sec and spite out. That happen to every disk that i put into.
sounds like it's just faulty. if you want you can try one of those cleaning cd's but my guess is it needs to be brought in.
Yeah, the one in my 2.2 went bad. It would try 3 times to read, then spit the disc out. Luckily I had about a month of warranty left.
