Mbp 2009 and 2012

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and this my first time swapping internals of a laptop.

I currently have working mid 2009 mbp A1286 and a busted (display assembly and casings) mid 2012 mbp A1286.

I have disassemble the mid 2012 to keep the logic board has I7 2.6ghz and hard drive.

Before I open the mid 2009. My question is would the parts from 2012 fit the 2009? Assuming they're both A1286?

Your main problem will be the difference in the ports.....

Form factors between the two logic boards are different. I'm pretty sure you'll not even be able to line up the screw holes and stand offs. Then as mentioned the ports are different.
