I have a late 2011 17" Mbp whose graphic card just died. I've had this happen three times now with macs. Striped screen at startup with glitchy colored apple logo, then screen goes blue. I know the graphics cards are still under the recall warranty, just looked it up.

I've made a Genius Bar appt for tomorrow, but am wondering: will they replace the card or give me a new laptop?

Anyone have this happen to them lately? Thanks in advance.

In most cases, they replace the logic board and give you your machine back. One member on here did report having his MBP replaced for a refurbished model under this programme, though. I'm sure he'll chime in with his experiences.

Follow up: it was the graphics card, it's covered so a free fix 3-5 days.
