Hello,
I have a 2011 MBP 13" and if I check in "About this mac" at Storage, my HDD is reporting 67GB available, but actually there are ~150GB, though in Finder is saying 87GB in use which is correct. I have Lion.
Also DU is reporting incorrectly.
Can anyone please help with this?

Thanks!

The 28th, but if the SSD reports the same way as a physical hdd, have you tried running disk utility? Verify the disk first, and then check your permissions. Others here will know more I hope it's not a bad omen.

I am confused. You say you have a 150GB HD and it says there is 67GB available+ 87GB in use? would that not add up to 150GB

The HDD is 320 and i have 100 occupied and 220 should be free, but it is reporting only 67 available which is wrong.
Hope I was more clear now.

Had that exact same problem 2 days ago. Both of my drives (see sig) reported nearly 80GB off but after a few restarts, it was fine. Do not know why it happened.

Problem solved with Daisy Disk. It was a hidden backup file aprox. 150Gb.
