I searched around and I think this issue is existent in some earlier MBPs as well. Regardless of listening to music or not, I'm getting some crackling sounds every once in a while (like 1 every 5 minutes or more, though i need to test more). Sometimes it happens when closing out a webpage, or refreshing it. Sometimes it happens when doing nothing. There are no issues when no headphones are connected. So i think it is related to the audio jack.

Has anyone experienced this problem and know any fixes?

The crackling sound is not extreme, but it's a little weird/annoying when it happens out of nowhere.

I'm also experiencing this with my 15" 2011 MPB. It only happens every so often when I have my speakers connected to the headphone jack. But it's a slight crackle sound. Not very loud but loud enough to notice.

It's not a deal breaker but a little annoying. Anyone else discovered this problem or found any solutions?
