have late 2011 MBP, was running 10.6.8, just updated the OSX to 10.7.4 since 10.6 is not supported in 2012 models. Removed the drive, put it in 2012 and instill won't boot. Shows the grey screen with a circle stoked diagonally - i assume new icon for system drive missing ?

when i boot with ALT key pressed. i actually see al the partitions, but even the newly created Lion recovery partition doesn't' boot.

what can i do ? seems like i need to update the structure of the boot partition or something ? how to do that ?

ps: using Seagate XT 750GB hybrid hard drive.

New Macs usually have a special build of OS X installed on them that is newer than the current available version. The only version of OS X that will boot a 2012 model is the version of OS X that came with it or when Apple releases a version newer than the one installed on it that will also work.
