MBP 2012 17inch version

What are the chances that the 17 inch will be available when the other first releases are? If they are released seperatly, howling will the wait likely be? Based on historical apple trends etc.
Sorry if this has been asked, I did look and didnt see anything.
Also, will the additional upgrades of ram or whatever be available on day 1 of release on the apple online store for whatever size?

To memory, since the TiBook G4, the 15" has always been introduced earlier than the 17" by a couple of months in the event of a redesign. The unibody had the same thing happen to it I believe - as did the Aluminium chassis design when they went to it on the PB G4s

Hmmm a few months after..that's possible (for a waiting time). Unless they bring out something absolutely ground breaking that is.

Yep, agree with Ray. When the unibody first came out I remember seeing them in an Apple Store while on vacation. One of the employees told me they thought it would be a few weeks until the 17" was probably updated. He was right. I always wondered why Apple tends to delay the 17" upgrades.

I own a 15" but have respect for the 17" owners on here. It is a good machine and is a portable workstation.

I would imagine since the 13 and 15 are way more popular then the 17, Apple probably wants to devote 100% production time to those 2 models to get to sufficient inventory levels before introducing the 17" model.
