So I have an early 2011 MBP 15" with hi-res antiglare screen. I was wondering if I could purchase a logic board for the mid 2012 model and swap it with the one in my MBP?? Looking at the two pics here they seems to be identical --> http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/93540/MacBook+Pro+2011+to+2012+logic+board+swap

If it's possible where could I buy one and how much would it possibly cost? Thanks for any input.

Logic boards usually come in in the $600+ range. You would be better off selling your current MBP and buying a refurbished (or even new) 2012 MBP.

Yeah that may be true. I found a step by step on ifixit on how to remove/replace the logic board but it's a lot of steps. I know I could do it but it'd be a lot of work.

It's not exactly the work involved that you should be worried about. First off, it's hard to obtain a logic board. iFixit sells them, but again for $600+. Then, the slightest difference would make it completely incompatible. Furthermore, the money you'll invest just won't be worth the performance upgrade you'll get.

Don't waste your money and time on this. If you're looking for an upgrade and budget's an issue, look at refurbished laptops.
