hey peeps,

im going to buy a mbp 2012 and thinking about to spend extra 100$ for the highres display (not matte)... would you say you see a difference and its worth the bucks?

im a lil afraid because i had the rmbp but returned it, and i dont wanna have the feeling of a crappy display if i use the regular 1440x900...

best greets!

Hi res Glossy is amazing. I have one, so I can recommend it to you. It is not retina but it is close enough. I have seen rMBP on a 1680x1050 and sure enough, it was close enough to the native res of "High-res Glossy display." I feel matte is a little wash out.

Loving my high res matte. Hard to look at normal res now. Looks like a toy.

I've got HR AG and like it, though to be honest I think the glossy display gets a bad rap. In fact, I plan to use a TBD once it's clear whether the latter will be updated soon. Antiglare for mobile versatility, crisper external display with careful placement vis-à-vis light sources at home.

i dont use the macbook outside, so i dont care about the antiglare. but with all the opinions i think i go for the highres! thx :)

I dont have one on mine ( Got mine Brand New off of Craigslist for $1650, No Tax), but if I was getting it from Apple, I definitely would have gotten the High Res display.
