Lurker turned poster, so forgive my intrusion. I'm waiting on a 15" Touch Bar MBP w/Radeon Pro 460 and I was hoping to figure out the most elegant connection setup for my new planned workspace.
I'm thinking about picking up a couple Samsung U24E590D displays. 27" is too big for me, 21" too small, so the LG UltraFines are out. 24" seems to be my Goldilocks moment somewhere in the middle and I'd like to go with a dual monitor setup, on risers behind the MBP so I can have it open too for Touch Bar fun.
I'd probably need to have a couple of USB3 external HDDs on the go also, and a wired ethernet cable, but that's about all I'd hook up with wires.
The ultimate ideal: I'd like to use as few of the Macbook's ports as possible to connect all this up, so I can easily detach and go.
I understand I'll need some dongles/hubs to achieve all this (which ones and where??), and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about the most efficient set up given the above ideal. Or, you know, someone will tell me I'm crazy and none of this will work. I'm prepared for that too. Any advice gratefully appreciated!
