Guys,
I've recently noticed that sometimes my screen gets "washed out".

Something that should be black is greyish and all other colors are pale.

Restart helps with this issue. Happened two times last week. Especially when watching a movie in a dark surrounding and then willing to do normal stuff eg. emails, web surfing.

Did anyone encounter similar thing?

Thanks

Does it look similar to the log-in/password screen? I've also noticed a few times that the grey-white translucent filter that accompanies the log-in screen persists for a while and, like you, have to restart to fix it.

Yes. Sth like that.

First time I was worried. Opened iPhoto, all photos had weird colors. Same mail, websites etc.

I have this issue as well. A temporary fix is to go to System Preferences - Displays - Color and selecting the color scheme of the screen again. This will fix the issue for that moment.

I've had this happen a couple of times when I'd open the lid. I figured out that I could put my palm over the area where the camera is and it would re-adjust and get back to where it should be.
