In case apple releases a new macbook pro with a different "modified" keyboard design in June 2018, would we be able to trade in our 2017 MBPs for the new ones by paying some kind of difference? If yes, how depreciated will they be and how much % difference do you think we would pay?
[doublepost=1521696375][/doublepost]I've traded in old ipads for newer ones at apple store and was satisfied with the deal. Don't know if they offer the same for MBPs.

You can try the trade in program. But remember they are a business looking to make a profit. So expect a low offer.

That trade in program will give you about half of what you would make selling the 2017 on the open market.

They won’t. Apple is a profit maximising business. :(

Maybe you can trade in at a ridiculously low price or maybe selling it at the 2nd hand market can fetch you more!

Considering 2016 models are still selling for around $1200-1500 online (eBay, Swappa, Craigslist), I'd take that route. It should be fair to say that 2017's will trend around that once the 18's are out.

The only way you can get your 2017 keyboard replaced by a 2018 model is through Apple warranty. For example, many 2016 MBP got new 2017 topcase under warranty, simply because they discontinued 2016 topcase. If they actually change the keyboard in 2018 model, and your keyboard stop working, there is a chance they will just swap the better one for you. Since they already knew your 2017 replacement will not last long anyway.

if design remains the same and there are no major changes in the chassis like it is for 2016 and 2017 models

The only problem is I'm having speaker issues as well! I already replaced the right speaker once and now it started buzzing again...

And this is why I stay with my 2015 MacBook Pro. Would I love a new MBP? Yes, of course, but with all the issues on the 2016/2017 models, forget it. The keyboards are the main problem but I do hear a lot about the speakers as well. Also, if you have a Touch Bar model, if that thing breaks, because of TouchID and the T1 chip, don't you have to replace the entire logic board? Out of warranty that would be a nightmare!

What is it with the right speaker? I have read several people posting about the same issue. Is it the actual speaker? Or is it something routed to close with poorly shielded getting induced?
