So, I was finally struck - certain keys on my 2017 stopped working properly (T was intermittent, Y double typed).

I just got it back after having the top case replaced - and rather oddly - those two keys in particular are VERY clicky compared to the rest of the keyboard.

Is this normal?

"Very clicky" is subjective. Some keys are noisier than others. I guess a coincidence or OCD?

You can check the battery cycle count to see if it's single digit if you have doubts that they replaced your top case.

Oh they replaced it - I have no doubt about that.

I'm just curious why some keys are very loud and others are silent.

May have something to do with what is underneath the particular keys.

I'm using a mechanical keyboard right now and the keys feel the same. Very consistent from key to key. A lot of travel. Very clicky and a pleasure to type on. But all of the keys are individual mechanisms and attached to the keyboard which is different from an integrated keyboard.

Just to update this - fairy obvious they’re using the same parts as this keyboard has failed after just 2 weeks.
