I'll start off with that I'm new to the macbook pro community. I recently purchased a 15" macbook pro 2018 core i9 and have noticed the heat coming out of this thing is ridiculous. I put a decent workload on this thing, but not overly so. So sitting in front of this on the keyboard for a given work day with cpu hovering anywhere from 10-15% usage, this things heats up to a point that it's just uncomfortable. I tried installing Macs Fan Control and it's definitely keeping it cooler, but the fan is now constantly running. I put the range based on CPU PECI from 51 to 61C.

I've ordered a core i7 to replace this hoping that it will put out less heat, but i'm concerned it won't be any different. Does anyone have any experience between the i7 and i9 that can speak to that? Are the i7s putting out a lot of heat also? To the point that you just need to use an external keyboard?

Any insights are much appreciated!
