Hi

So I was using my MBP (Late 2011, 13" 2.8GHz i7, 16GB RAM) yesterday and went to copy and paste some text and the next thing the graphics disintegrated into big glitchy blocks and flashed while 4 loud beeps went off. I did a force shut down and grabbed my external HD for a quick back up if it rebooted OK. It did start up OK, I did the back up and it has been fine.

But I was wondering what is going wrong? It has been a bit slower recently and I've been thinking it is well and truly time for a SSD upgrade but now I'm wondering if it is just time to ditch my beloved beauty and dream of a newer model?

What does this mean: 4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)

I've searched far and wide but most people seem to have the 1, 2 3, or 5 beeps.
The 4 beeps must be a bit special! o_O
