I recently replaced the liquid-damaged keyboard on my Mid-09 13" MBP (yes, individually, you don't have to spend $300 on a whole new upper case, nor does the backlight require simulataneous replacement). While I was at it I did a deep clean of everything: I dusted and reseated the fan and logic board, and put new thermal paste on the CPU & GPU. The new keyboard works perfectly, it runs smoother and my idle temps are down from 80+'C to ~41'C.

Unfortunately, somehow the Airport card has been knocked out of service and the fan is running constantly at 6000+RPM. Looking around for ideas, I thought the system management control needed resetting. It isn't giving me any results, however. It does not power up with the S+C+O + PB method without a delay following the keystroke release, which makes me believe it isn't actually working.

Before I dig back inside, is there anything else I should try?
