hey guys,

whenever i connect my sd600 to my mbp, it just doesn't mount. the only way i can access my photos is by opening iphoto, and then importing from there. if im not wrong, when you connect a digital camera, it's supposed to mount to your desktop and also update the left handside of the finder window, right? any ideas why this is happening? any help would be appreciated.

for the record, other periphs mount just fine.

There are two or three major protocols that cameras speak to allow them to upload photos. Not all of these support disk mode access. Your camera would not appear to support this. There is no work around.

For reasons that baffle me, Canon does not support USB Automount on MacOS X. I love the company. I love its cameras. However, its explanations for not supporting USB Automount are bogus. You may read them here.
