Think I am going to get a mbp i5 or i7. Not totally decided whether the i7 is worth the money for me right now.

Anyhow jus wondering if if I choose to get it with an ssd should I configure the mac with it or buy and install myself?

Thanks in advance :)

Buy + install yourself, it really is as simple as unscrewing a couple things... ok well a lot of things, and then unplugging one drive, plugging in the other.

Reinstall OSx and you're good.

You can also buy an external drive housing. Use Carbon Copy to copy your current drive to the new drive. Then install the new drive in your Mac, and use the old hard drive in the external housing for Time Machine or file storage.
