I haven't used my MBP in a few days, and when I turned it on, it took about 20-30 seconds for the Apple logo screen to appear.

It's usually not quite this slow. Is this normal?

I think it does a quick disk check once in a while, which would take a little extra time.

Back in the day it was normal for the Apple logo to be on the screen for several minutes. :p
