Im currently using my MBP hooked up to my ACD all the time. (clamshell mode).

Are there any tecniques to conserve battery life? (Should I unplugg it when Im not using it for example?)

Thanks alot!

From what I understand, just run the battery down once a month or so

Just keep it plugged in and recondition the battery monthly like he said, and you're all set. Thats what I do.

Standard Maintenance

For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time. An ideal use would be a commuter who uses her MacBook Pro on the train, then plugs it in at the office to charge. This keeps the battery juices flowing. If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month.

I use mine solely as a desktop so far, so in addition to the monthly calibration I also unplug it once a week and use it to 75 % charge or thereabouts.

HTH.
