MBP attached monitor help

Hey guys. So I have a problem...I think.
So I recently bought a 30 inch LED monitor to connect to my macbook pro. Everything has been going fine, except when I play games. For some reason when I open up Civilization 5, instead of playing on the big 30 inch, it plays on the small 17 inch MBP screen. Suggestions on what to do? Btw I want it to play on the 30 inch.

You need to open system preferences, click displays, and under arrangement drag the white menu bar from your MBP built in monitor to the external one. That will make the external display your primary display, and it should make full screen apps run on it.
