Hey guys i know there is prob a post here somwhere about this problem.. if there is please link me..

BUT

my strange issue is :

turn on my laptop i get the start up chime.

loads as normal.

press the audio up and down buttons and nothing. no foldback audio sounds.

play a DVD, no audio.

go into the system preferences, and i see that the internal speakers is selected as the built in output is all selected and sweet. BUt no audio is coming out if the speakers.

so i guessed my speakers were just ****ed...

but when i ended up opening garage band too have a random test and the piano worked in it. the audio was sweet it was going up and down in the porgram when i pressed the buttons but i was not getting the fold back noise.

ANY IDEAS OR HINTS WOULD BE LIFESAVING!!

I have the exact same issue, started about a week ago. Any solutions would be top notch

I have no idea, but my best guess would be that there's something wrong with the audio driver.. I would suggest a backup then reinstall, and see if that fixes the issue.
