I was just reading an article about battery power on MB/P's:

http://blogs.oreilly.com/digitalmedia/2008/04/monitoring-mac-battery-levels.html

This guy's Macbook is 23 months old (mine is 24), and his battery capacity has only dropped from 5000 to 4600 mAh.

I just downloaded the same Cocunut program and ran it, and my MBP has gone from 5500 mAh to 2150 mAh -- a 62% DROP in maximum battery charge.

I've been noticing I can't bring it with me to school anymore because the battery dies so quickly, and now I know why!

My 2-year AppleCare expires next week; if I bring it in, will they install a new battery, or what?

Thanks a lot,

Michael

I just installed iStat Pro, and it shows my batter health is at 39%, almost exactly the same as Coconut. Now I know there is definitely a problem. Also, it shows # of cycles at 83.
