I returned my 17 i7 MBP for a 15 i7, I have been torn between the 2. My question is the 15 battery seems to drain alot while sleeping. last night I was around maybe 40% and went to bed and now its 0%. coconut battery says 100% health. The 17 did not drain that much over night.

I will check it out tonight just to make sure I was right re the charge before bed.

I calibrated it last week.

Any thoughts? both 15 and 17 should get the same battery time?

Are you a bear? You could be hybernating...

God, 40% in one night is a lot... And I doubt that open apps influence sleep drain... Faulty battery may I say?...

I put my Macbook to sleep earlier this week with airport turned off and it was at 38% power. I opened it yesterday, 3 days later and it was at 3% and gave me warnings it was going to shut down and I need to plug it in

I was surprised that Sleep takes that much power but I assume this is normal. But, 40% overnight is a lot and would defeat the purpose of putting it to sleep instead of shutting down

Did you put to sleep your mbp manually via apple menu or closing the lid?

I can not get to sleep my mbp automatically via the energy saver settings, only the display goes to sleep and it drains the battery because the system is not really sleeping.

I can only get my machine sleeping manually, seems to be a common problem in 2010 mbp's
