Hi all,
I have a santa rosa mbp from about june of last year. I have noticed that lately the battery seems to die extremely quickly relative to its performance in the past. Previously, I was able to watch entire movies in full screen and still have ~1/4 batter life left, so about 2 - 2.5 hours.

Lately I've noticed that the battery life is in the <1hr range, and significantly worse if I do anything on the internet. I just had my motherboard replaced (likely due to nvidia chip failure, though they wouldn't admit that), and i'm wondering if some settings could be causing the battery usage change, or maybe my battery is just dying.

Is this kind of battery life drop over just one year normal? Have others experienced this? If I take it to Apple (under applecare), could I have the battery replaced? The machine is only 1 year old, so I don't see why it wouldn't be covered.

Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! BTW, i've referred to the laptop battery guide in this section, but I am not near that computer now so I just wanted to ask the question before doing the steps in that page!

Thanks!
Ashish
