Hey everyone, whenever my friend turns on his MBP, you can hear the Apple chime and the little noises the precede it. However, the screen remains blank.

Also to note, there is a solid white light next to the laptop latch.

Keys seem to be working, as you can hear the volume function increasing/decreasing.

I tried doing the PRAM reset, however, nothing has changed.

What's causing this problem? Is it the battery?

Are there any suggestions to fix this, or is Apple care the only way to fix this?

Thanks everyone.

rosslane, did you find a fix for this? I have the same issue today. I thought it maybe something to do with Sleep Mode, but I am unable to get the display to come on even after a reboot. I also tried an external monitor.
