MBP Buy Now vs Fall 2010? My first laptop.

I'm presently a student and am interested in purchasing a MBP. I now own an iMac so I do not need a laptop immediately. I "WANT" to purchase the MBP now but do not "NEED" it until sometime in the fall of 2010. I am looking for advice from those of you who might be more familiar with Apple's history as far as updating their products with new models. So my question is buy now vs wait?

Take the money you would buy it with and buy some Apple stock instead. Then buy your October model when it comes out with (hopeful) proceeds from selling the stock you bought.
