With the OS and the iLife and iWorks apps installed, about 20GB of space will be used. Is that what you were after?
Yes thanks. Do apps on macs take up less space than those on windows? I currently use about 260gb on my windows notebook but I'm wondering if I can live with 128gb on a macbook.
It depends on which apps you're referring to, as some take very little space, while others require a lot. Generally speaking, it's a good idea to buy as much space as you can afford, as I don't recall ever hearing anyone complaining that they have too much space available, while many do complain about not having enough.
