My late 2007 MBP CPU routinely runs around 80C, and the very rear strip of the enclosure base gets extremely hot. When I'm using it on my lap, even while wearing jeans, my thighs get burned!

Does anyone else have this problem? My girlfriend got pissed when I said my MBP is the hottest thing that ever sits in my lap, but its true!

Are you playing a lot of games? Watching a lot of flash video? Converting a lot of video? If so then the CPU temp is pretty normal and you should look into a mat like Jaro65 suggests.

If not then I'm a little surprised your CPU is running that hot.
