I have a habit of coming in from work, plugging the MBP into the cinema display, (USB, Mini-display port & power), then opening the lid to wake.
Recently this has caused my mac to crash.
I first get the blue screen (as usual when connecting an external display), then a black screen with the spinning coloured ball.
No buttons cause the ball to go away, and if i unplug the cinema display, i get the blue screen again, then the black screen with the ball (but now the ball will flicker).
It started around 2 weeks ago, and i don't remember changing anything, only maybe a software update (10.7.2).
Any ideas of where to go from here.
PS, it works fine if i wake, login, then plug my MBP in, but sometimes i forget and need to restart.
