Well I ordered a 2.2GHZ Glossy MBP, and wondering why there is such a delay (UK only or for everyone)? Been quoted shipping on around the 7th of August! Three weeks!!! Anyone know?:)

No idea, I ordered mine a couple of days ago with 2 day shipping and its expected to come in around August 1st.

ordered my 17" MBP on July 12. Just got an e mail saying it was just shipped and should receive it on July 23

Ah, could be a few parts but I'm not sure--

2.2GHz, 2GB, etc
160GB Serial ATA Drive@5400rpm
15" Glossy Widescreen Display

Only custom options I picked!

Same thing I did (except Glossy)!
I ordered mine today and i was given:

Ships by: Jul 27 - Aug 1
Delivers by: Jul 31 - Aug 7

Same here

The MBP was ordred 3 weeks ago at a third party retailer. I had to since I know someone there and got a better price than at the apple store.

Right now it's listed as a back order and they do not know when it will turn up.:(
It sucks but there nothing I can do.

Could be due to a shortage of the LED backlit displays that there's a lengthy time between purchase and shipment.

The 15" MBPs have a loooong wait time because of the new displays. Your best bet would be if you have an Apple store nearby, call and see if they have any in stock, and pick that up instead. Worth a shot, anyways.

Indeed it seems that way! Shame Apple can't get their suppliers in order (you would assume any medium+ sized business would forecast).

writing this from windows mobile as both my PC and iBook are dead!

dmw007- what's the maxed out 4gb for? Just wondering :)

Nothing really, just thought I would max out the RAM for the heck of it.

I normally just use my MacBook Pro for iTunes, Safari, Word, Keynote, and the occasional video game. At times I even dabble with Aperture and Photoshop, but nothing close to serious.
