I have a pre-unibody 15" MBP that seems to have died. I typically only use it for work-related travel, so getting ready for a trip last weekend I found that it wouldn't boot. I assumed the battery was dead, but when I plugged it up the LED on the power adapter was not as bright as normal. I did a SMC reset and when I plugged the power back into it, the LED came on bright green (normal) and the laptop booted just fine.

So a day later while traveling, the same thing happened, MBP wouldn't boot and the power adapter LED was a dim green. Now it is not responding to a SMC reset.

Any ideas on what else I might try? And if not, is this something that can be repaired for a reasonable sum? Or should I just move on to a new MBP/MBA?

Thanks for any help.
