MBP does not auto-join Airport Extreme

I recently purchased an Airport Extreme from Apple to replace my linksys wireless router. I have set the AE to be "closed" (no SSID broadcast). My iPhone will automatically join it after a day on the road, however, my MBP does not search for or see the network, I have to manually join it every time.

Is there a solution?

Open System Prefs. > Network > Airport and make sure that "by default, join:" is set to preferred networks, and that your network name is listen below.

Let us know if that does anything.
