MBP does not auto switch to 5 Ghz wifi network channel

Hi guys,

I have a new Airport Extreme and a new MacBook Pro (i7).

My A.P. is running dual mode, on manual selected channels - ONE SSID.

If I eg. go to my kitchen, my MBP switches to the 2,4 Ghz channel. If I go back to the room where the A.P. is, the MBP does not switch back to the 5 Ghz channel. If I turn off Airport on the MBP and back on (still in the same room), the MBP connects to the 5 Ghz, as it should (IMO).

Is this normal?
Is there anything I can do to make the MBP auto switch to 5 Ghz (I am sitting 2 meters away)?
