I have an early 2008 mbp, my battery is getting worse and worse in last 5 months. 3 weeks before now it starts not to charge, when laptop is running I saw the BATTERY NOT CHARGING warning. I thought that I can use it without battery for 2 weeks because after 2 weeks I will be in US and I can purchase new battery in a cheapest price. But now, my mbp does not openning. I could not hear the openning ''boing'' sound. Only sound I hear it is the ''ping'' sound, you hear it when you use your laptop with battrey and when the battery ends and your laptop shuts down.
I tried to ejecting battery and open it, it still does not opening. Do you think if I bought a new battery will it solve the situation or I must be ready for the worst ending story like my logic board is burnt.
