I'm new to burning DVD's because I've never had a DVD burner till this MacBook Pro. I made a movie using iDVD and tried to burn it to a DVD-R disc. It just ejects the disc and says to insert a recordable DVD. Did I buy the wrong blank DVD's or something? Sorry if this is a dumb question haha.

Have you ever burnt anything with the same type of DVDs, or any DVDs at all before? I bought a pack of HP CD-R's which worked great with my Macs, so I bought another pack and none of them in that pack would work.

The MBP is able to read/write DVD-R.

Maybe the disc is messed up, or your disc drive.

The type I bought was HP DVD-R 16x

I've tried a bunch of the DVD's in the pack, and none have worked. Is it common to get a bad batch or something? These were like $12.

It reads them because when I insert one it asks what I want to do with the blank DVD. iDVD wont burn to them though.

It's ironic that my blank CDs were HP as well. Don't bother emailing them for a refund, they won't respond. Might I recommend Memorex? I have used at least 75 of them on my Macs and had no problems whatsoever.
