Hey all,

It looks like the battery for my early 2011 MacBook Pro is cooked. I have no definitive answer for this but it stopped charging recently and then the power was cut, it died and now even plugged in it won't turn on.

It's of course out of warranty (and even if spent the $ on extended it would be done at this point).

Replacing it doesn't look difficult, but I'm looking for some thoughts on where to get a battery (part number A1322 according to the iFixIt site). iFixIt wants $100 for it, there's a few options on Amazon, and on NewEgg it's only $35 which is way more in my budget right now.

Another thread said to ONLY get a battery from Apple but the link provided led to a page that was no longer posted on Apple's site.

Thoughts?
