MBP & eGPU heat?

From what I understand a lot of the heat one experiences when playing a game, rendering etc. with a 15 MBP is from the dGPU, causing the fans to increase RPM to cool the whole laptop down. Anyone able to share whether their MBP still got uncomfortably hot with an eGPU instead?
