Hello All,

I'll be buying a 13" MBP when the BTS promo starts. I would like to know what are the accessories to be bought if the MBP is to be used with External monitor.

Keyboard, Mouse and then....????

Is only a apple mouse/KB is required to take advantage of the trackpad?

NOTE: The laptop wont be lugged around will stay in my desk mostly.

Any suggestions and ideas appreciated.

You need a miniDisplayPort to VGA or miniDisplayPort to DVI adapter depending on the input of the external display. Apple offers them and Monoprice offers even cheaper ones.

MRoogle might tell your more though.

Keyboard and mouse are a must when using MBP as desktop. I'd also look for decent speakers. Oh, and don't forget to get a stand for MBP, makes it IMO much better than if it's just sitting on table

Thanks for the reply guys.

So the accessories list goes as:

-display adapter
-KB
-Mouse
-Stand
-Speakers(Optional)

I'm trying to pick out of the below two options:

1 - 13" MBP + external display + accessories
2- 15" MBP

As mentioned before, MBP will not have more travel away from hoouse mostly across rooms in my house.

I'm not interested to purchase another laptop every 3-4 years.

Hi,
I have a similar if not exact requirement.
I have a 25" external Samsung monitor. So when the MBP is closed on my desk I'd like to use an external keyboard and mouse.

I have a keyboard and mouse from an old PC, but they have PS/2 connectors. I bought a Y connector that converts 2 PS/2 connectors into a single USB. I tried that but the keyboard assistant didn't recognize the keyboard. Does MBP not support a PS/2 to USB devices?

Comments/suggestions?

I was trying to avoid buying a new USB keyboard and mouse unless I have to.

Thanks,
Steve

and another thing, if you want to add headphones to your list (if you listen to a lot of music or watch movies or even play games) you should look into sennheiser, shures, or denon headphones. all very high quality brands when it comes to audio. i got a pair of sennheiser hd 555's for about $110.00 of bestbuy.com. their intro "audiophile" headphones. audiophile meaning people who are obsessed with music and fine tuned audio, like dj's, recording artists, producers, w/e. but anyways, if this interests you feel free to PM me for further detail!

Hi,
Hengedocks seems to be on backorder.

The reviews all seem great.

Anybody else have experience with this model?

thanks,
Steve
