Hi guys,

A question already asked several times, but maybe it's time for an update.

Do you have any idea when Apple could release a new Thunderbolt display I could use with my 2015 MBP ?

Or in case I need it now, any advice on good alternatives from Dell or Samsung ?

Thanks.

Nobody but Apple knows when/if they'll release a display. Do you specifically need thunderbolt for anything?

Dell makes great IPS displays, that's where I'd look if I were you.

Well, in order to have a perfectly calibrated display, I would have preferred a thunderbolt display, since I have thunderbolt on my MBP.

I know that Dell makes good screens, that's why I specifically asked if someone knew a particular model he could recommend.

Calibrating can be done no matter which connection the screen is using(VGA, HDMI, DIV, Displayport, etc.). I'm not sure I'm following you.

I still haven't found an external display yet. Care to share your ideas -- which model would you use for a MBP early 2015 ?

I'm getting the 27" 4K from dell, about $700 I think - and has 4 USB 3 ports.

3 key requirement areas: screen size, resolution (2K, 4K, 5K) and gamut (sRGB or Adobe RGB)

I got my Dell UP-2414Q for $350 on eBay. It is 24", 4K, and does Adobe RGB.

If you want a Dell 27", 4K, sRGB monitor, the P-2715Q is now $520 at B&H and Adorama. If you want a Dell 24", 4K sRGB monitor the P-2415Q is $425.

My 2013 rMBP drives 4K. A 2015 rMBP could do 4K or 5K. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202856

I'll be running mine off a Dell M3800 not the rMBP

I ended up with an Acer 28" 4K for $470, the Dell was $800 here.
