MBP External Mouse Expose not working

i just got my 13" 2.7 ghz MBP with 10.7 in today and attempted to use my Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 bluetrack on it. everything worked fine except expose on the two side buttons. i used the same mouse on my 23" 2.8 ghz Imac and it worked fine, even without installing any software. I installed Intellimouse 7.1 (what was on the disc with the mouse) and set both buttons to use expose, still no prevail. any suggestions??
