MBP Fan Question.

Hey guys i just got my MBP last night and i've downloaded SMC Fan Control and set it to 3000 minimum, is this ok? I don't want to wear the fans out to quickly but I'm not happy with the temps at stock speed. I've also heard that the fans on Macbooks often break is this true?

I run the fans in my MBPs at a speed of 4000RPM and I've never had any trouble with them, so 3000RPM is fine.

i dont run distributed computing software just because im worried about the fans, ive already had the right side die, but 3000 is just slightly higher than default so you should be alright
