Hey!
My MBP has been "freezing", after I request sleep and then it wakes up from RTC (Real Time Clock), in this case, I believe it comes from wake on lan.
From Console:
08/11/12 22:36:10,000 kernel[0]: Wake reason: RTC (Alarm)
08/11/12 22:36:10,000 kernel[0]: RTC: Maintenance 2012/11/9 00:36:09, sleep 2012/11/8 22:48:27
The problem, is that it freezes and doesn't go back to sleep. When I come back, the fans are at fullpower and it's very hot. I have to hold power to turn it off. This time, I could see a lot of these:
From Console:
08/11/12 22:37:33,660 SystemUIServer[156]: Error getting disk for path /Volumes/Time Capsule: No underlying device was found (for example, AFP network volumes are not supported)
It seems that it is trying to back up, but is unable to do so (it should be able to, since the backup volume is available). Other times, I had the same issue, but with a lot of "couldn't get EDID from the display" messages. I have to disable wake from lan to fix it, but find my mac is disabled.
It seems this issue came with 10.8.2. It can't be a problem in my system, since I did a clean install today.
----------
It seems that this feature is called "wake on demand" and is related to bounjour sleep proxy. But the problem is, it does not go back to sleep.
----------
According to THIS thread, the problem is related to my nvidia graphics card, that does not support this "maintenance mode" with the current drivers.
As it states, the graphics times out on console:
08/11/12 22:36:57,000 kernel[0]: NVDA::setPowerState(0xffffff80311e3800, 0 -> 1) timed out after 45599 ms
It seems that downloading a driver from nvidia fixes it, i'll give it a try.
----------
I didn't pay attention to the post... the driver is for Mac Pro's... no fix then!
