MBP freezing

I have the new, 2.4ghz and it has frozen on me more than a few times, its not pandemic but I want to get it fixed if it shouldn't be doing this. The times it froze were during playing CIV IV and Age of Empires III with full graphics on both. Shouldn't this laptop be able to handle full graphics? It also froze while processing a movie on imovie hd and doing a couple other apps. When it freezes is there any option but to reboot? And should this be happening at all?

how much RAM do you have, also try repairing permissions in disk utility.

Not sure about AE III, but Civ IV has a known bug with the new SR MBPs. and randomly crashes and freezes. Aspyr is apparently working on a fix, but acknowledges that it has to do with the Nvidia 8600M drivers:

I'm gonna reinstall mac os x and then if it doesnt survive I will return it. I have 2gb of ram.

It's probably fine. My 2.2 used to freeze for about 20seconds while playing Doom 3 and crash when playing COD 2. I updated both games and now they're playing just fine. Try patching the games first. According to Aspyr, their games were not made to play on the new MBPs (video cards).
