I have a new MacBook Pro (November 2008) and i have been getting frequent kernel panics and screen glitches doing the most common activities, like going on Safari of iTunes. I then noticed this only occurs when I'm using the Nvidia 9400M processor. Last night i had three kernel panics (the last two within 10 minutes of each other, and with screen glitches) and all i was doing was Quick Looking videos. I recreated the kernel panics a few times by Quick Looking some high quality videos. Could it be that it has one of those faulty Nvidia chips? Are these indications of a faulty chip? Attached is a URL to a YouTube video I posted showing the screen glitches.

It could be. Some things to definitely try doing:

1. run AHT, see if it comes up with any errors
2. do an Archive and Install WITHOUT preserving folders/settings

If you do the above and still getting errors, it's definitely hardware related (yes, AHT doesn't detect everything, it just sees if the hardware works for the most part) and you would need to get it repaired.

Ok. I'll try that
