MBP from MacConnection; Problems taken to Genius Bar?

Just discovered my new Unibody MBP with the 9600M is experiencing graphics issues similar to this:

I just received the MBP from MacConnection last Thursday. I could RMA it and get a replacement through them, I am guessing. But I'm risking the same graphics problem on the replacement.

Can I take this to the Genius Bar instead? Has anyone one taken their Unibody with the graphics problem to the Genius Bar and had it resolved?

This has never happened to me but ya just take it to the genius bar instead of calling in for a replacement. Better chance to not get another one like that if you take it through genius but might take longer.
