MBP from summer 08 won't start up.

So I used my mbp until it ran out of battery. When I went home to charge, it won't start up. If I consistently hit the power button, it'll give off that little noise like it might start up, but ultimately it won't. The led light that is by the case opening is lit up, and does a single fade away and return when the lid is closed. Some help? Luckily I am under apple care, but I'd like to not lose all my stuff! had to type this all from an iPod so thanks and please bear with me.
