As everybody knows (or almost everybody, since where I originally read about this was a link from this site) the MacBook Pro Gen. 1 had it's issues, including
dissolving aluminum plating on the palmrests, random failures of batteries from more than a year ago, and even various breakages of the power cord. But recently, my MBP trackpad and keyboard stopped working. It happened infrequently at first, but it started happening more and more often, even stopping faster while using the less graphics-enhanced programs (iTunes, Pages, etc.) Since september of '08 I have gotten every single one of the mentioned parts replaced (the palmrest along with the trackpad, of course) and now the computer is running almost like new! the only problem (which, undeniably, is from the new trackpad) is that the computer boots up in 2-2.5 minutes, instead the .5-1 minute that it took before. Has anybody had these problems recently?
